Vegan Homemade Sugar-free Nutella

  • Medjool dates-8/more for sweeter-soaked in warm water for 15 minutes
  • Cacao Powder-1 Tbsp + 1 tsp /more for chocolaty
  • Hazelnuts-250 grams
  • Concentrated Vanilla extract-1 tsp (make it 2 tsp for normal)
  • Salt-a pinch.
  • Water-3 Tbsp.
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 C/390 F and turn the oven off.
  2. Add hazelnuts onto a tray, chuck them in an oven for 15-20 mins. Take them out and remove skin.They would come off. There might be few here & there. It's okay.
  3. Let it cool, add it into a food processor and process until it is broken into bits and starts to get into a nut butter consistency.
  4. Once nice and runny,add dates, cacao,vanilla,salt and turn your processor on. It would start to lump. Time to add water.
  5. One Tbsp at a time and process until you get nutella consistency
  6. Store in an air-tight jar for up to 7 days. It never lasts longer.
